چکیده
Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide semiconductor photocatalysts have been widely utilized in the last few decades for water treatment because of their high photocatalytic efficiency. Recently, a lot researchers focused on improvement properties catalysts through modifying co-modifying them with different metals nonmetals. These co-catalytic ions improve activity ZnO TiO2 by reducing its energy band gap. This might be useful wastewater degradation organic contaminants. In this study, we prepared films that were surface-modified Ag co-catalyst layers via photo-fixation (I) varied concentrations (10?2–10?4 M) phase under UV illumination first time. The behavior was evaluated malachite green methylene blue visible light irradiation. ZnO/Ag TiO2/Ag samples showed faster compared to due formation stable intermediates reaction OH radicals triarylmethane dye (C=C bond) during photocatalysis. co-catalytic-silver-modified had higher efficiency comparison pure nanostructures. photodegradation rate constants increased following order: < modified Ag, 10?4 M Ag10?3 Ag10?2 M. modification heterojunction composites contributed trapping transfer electrons. Therefore, photogenerated charges longer lifetime, resulting strengthened ability films.

Background & objectives: Nitroanene compounds and toxic dyes are considered major pollutants in sewage of various industries. These synthetic organic compounds are highly toxic and one of the most resistant pollutants in the environment. Developing a simple and effective method to destroy non-biodegradable pollutants into non-hazardous products is one of the major challenges in environmental st...
متن کاملPhotocatalytic degradation of some organic dyes under solar light irradiation using TiO2 and ZnO nanoparticles
Nanoparticles of the ZnO and TiO2 were synthesized and the physicochemical properties of the compounds were characterized by IR, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The XRD patterns of the ZnO and TiO2 nanoparticles could be indexed to hexagonal and rutile phase, respectively. Aggregated nanoparticles of Z...
متن کاملZnO films prepared by modified sol-gel technique
Zinc oxide films with different thicknesses have been synthesized by modified sol-gel technique. The films are polycrystalline in nature with average grain size between 32 and 57 nm. The thicker films are less strained than the thinner ones. The optical band gap of the films is ~ 3.22 eV. PL spectra are dominated by a strong luminescence peak at ~387 nm followed by a low intensity peak ~469 nm....
